Counselling Psychologist
Dr Angharad is an HCPC-registered Counselling Psychologist with over 10 years’ experience across the NHS, third sector, and private practice in the UK. She completed her doctoral training at the University of Surrey.
She sees therapy as a space to gently make sense of experiences and find meaning in what someone is going through. Rather than focusing solely on eliminating distress, Angharad supports clients to understand it differently, so it feels less overwhelming and more integrated into their lives.
Her approach is relational and integrative, drawing on existential, psychodynamic, and third-wave cognitive therapies. She works collaboratively, adapting to each person’s needs, and places importance on the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for change.
Dr Angharad aims to offer a space that feels safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental, where all parts of a person are welcome. Dr Angharad takes a trauma-informed, holistic approach, considering emotional experiences, relationships, the body, and wider context. Together with her clients, she explores past experiences, present challenges, and hopes for the future, helping to understand patterns, process experiences, and move towards a more authentic and meaningful way of living.
She has experience supporting people with a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and burnout. She has particular interests in trauma, addiction, gender, sexuality, and relationship diversity, and is committed to working in an inclusive and culturally aware way.
Alongside her professional work, Dr Angharad brings a personal understanding of trauma, mental health, sobriety and recovery. In her own time, she enjoys being in nature, engaging in holistic practices, listening to music, and spending time with animals.
