Clinical Psychologist
Dr Calum Rankin is a UK trained Clinical Psychologist and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Following completion of his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology he worked for several years in both the UK’s National Health Service and privately.
Calum has delivered psychological formulation and treatment with clients across the lifespan experiencing psychological distress. This may present as heightened anxiety, low mood, self-criticism and shame and/or trauma-based responses. He adopts an Integrative Psychological Therapies approach, where he draws upon evidence-based models such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focussed Therapy.
Having worked in the UK’s National Health Service Calum also has been involved in service development and teaching/training to staff. This has included supporting mental health needs in minority groups.
Calum believes it is important to work collaboratively and integrate therapy to fit with a client’s needs. He aims to support clients in making small manageable shifts to develop self-growth, compassion, and valued living to help them work towards their full potential.
