Clinical Supervisor – External Support and After Care
Wilson Howe is a clinical psychologist from the states, licensed in California and Texas. He has been in the mental health field since 1996. He has a master’s degree in counselling psychology and a PhD in clinical psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, CA. His focus is depth psychology, primarily analytical psychology and psychoanalysis (self psychology, specifically). He is influenced by the works of C. G. Jung, Stanislav Grof, James Hillman, Donald Winnicott, and Heinz Kohut. He is currently studying the works of John Beebe but has not yet incorporated Beebe’s theory into his practice. He has worked in virtually every setting in mental health including private practice, acute inpatient, long-term inpatient, schools, day treatment, hospice, jail, and prison. He has worked with a very wide range of mental illness including depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar, schizophrenia, eating disorders, substance abuse, and gender dysphoria. Since 2015, he has specialized in long-term, individual psychotherapy with expatriates living abroad and those who have returned to their country of origin. He sees the therapeutic relationship as the fundamental principle of treatment.
