Two Sides Of The Same Coin
At The Beekeeper, we’ve seen firsthand that the most fruitful recovery occurs at a junction where two seemingly different paths cross; this is encapsulated by our integrative approach. The bringing together of contemporary psychology and time honoured eastern philosophies has empowered us to achieve remarkable outcomes for our clients.
The Beekeeper’s approach to treatment is integrative in the sense that we practice various therapeutic modalities, blend clinical psychology with eastern philosophy, and treat human beings as a whole- inclusive of the mind, body, & spirit. What unites our efforts is a commitment to empathy and a focus on compassion.
The Beekeeper employs over 60 people across South East Asia, and we have evolved into a company that has an outstanding reputation for compassionate client care. Our team is made up of a variety of experts in their field, from Clinical Psychologists, Medical Doctors, Nurses and Social Support staff. All of us are driven by a commitment to client well-being, empathy and happiness.
Our Integrative Approach programme was developed by experts. It was designed by some of the most talented and experienced doctors, psychologists, clinicians and nurses in the field. In order to make long-term recovery certain, certain clinical components must be part of the recovery process. These components include:
Without the proper training and qualifications, you cannot diagnose or treat any underlying issues. The Beekeeper has clinicians that are specialised in various disorders and trauma resolution.
Comprehensive assessment by a Clinician, which is paired with a medical and psychiatric provider that follows each client through their entire stay into aftercare. This process allows each clinical team following the client to build a treatment plan that encompasses all dimensions of an individual.
An Eclectic Approach to Therapy, that draws upon diverse evidence based approaches in clinical psychology. Our clinical team is trained in a variety of approaches and we don’t overly rely on one particular approach, such as just CBT. We make sure the approach fits the clients needs.
Trauma Informed Care, for those clients that need specific support for this, is available from our expert clinicians. We recognise that this can be an important part of an individual's recovery journey.
At Beekeeper House we work to heal the entire individual, not just the addiction or behaviour. We treat underlying issues, such as trauma, depression, anxiety, and other mental health or neurocognitive issues, also called co-occurring disorders.
Psychiatry is available to our clients if they need it, and all clients will receive a psychiatric evaluation if required. We work with highly regarded expert Psychiatrists with specific expertise in addiction and associated mental health issues.
One of the major benefits of our Integrative Approach is the blending of Eastern Approaches as they aid emotional regulation, which helps us get through daily life and also more challenging phases that we might face. They also allow individuals to better understand the mind and body connection, and we can bring about change within by utilising the innate resources we already possess as humans. This can have a profound and positive impact on the ongoing recovery process.
Clients will be able to experience different types of meditation practice, led by our local experts. Studies have found that meditation helps you make better decisions by improving the functioning of your brain's decision-making centres, as well as being more centred and calm.
Our clients will be guided in mindfulness, which is achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, sensations and is used as a therapeutic technique.
Clients will enjoy Yoga and movement practices that create mental clarity and calmness; increases body awareness; relieves chronic stress patterns; relaxes the mind; centres attention; and sharpens concentration.
The Beekeeper will have regular sound baths. These vibrations theoretically lead you deeper into a state of contemplation or relaxation, shutting off your body’s fight-or-flight reflex. In a 2020 research review that analysed four studies, improvements in distressed mood, tension, anger, and confusion were seen in study participants after a sound bath with Tibetan singing bowls
For clients who wish, we will offer classes with local Buddhist Nuns and Monks, or instructors, in the philosophy of Loving-kindness and Compassion, and other principles in Buddhist philosophy and practice.
Many of us can benefit from a massage — it’s a great way to improve wellness, help with pain and more. We offer regular massages to our clients as part of their overall wellbeing at The Beekeeper House.
Whilst clinical psychology is widely recognised as being an effective and critical part of the healing and recovery process, the power of eastern philosophies and practices are often underestimated- despite growing evidence to support their efficacy ranging from anecdotal accounts to countless peer reviewed studies.
All of our efforts are united by a commitment to empathy and a focus on compassion. The Integrative Approach is The Beekeeper way, lovingly developed by us and practised by our 14 clinicians- both in Thailand and regionally.
We accept referrals from GP's, psychiatrists, psychologists, counsellors, case managers, and other health professionals. To refer your clients or patients, please get in touch by sending us an email, giving us a call or filling out our online contact form.
When you come to The Beekeeper House, you are not just getting treatment for your addiction or mental health issue - you are also embarking on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth.
The Beekeeper House directs its efforts towards the treatment of comprehensive care and the co-existence of addiction and mental health issues. They will provide your loved ones opportunities to heal and grow.
